Learning Outcomes
1. Develop a comprehensive understanding of data management
Participants will understand DAMA’s DMBOK framework, the fundamental principles of data management, and how its knowledge areas are interconnected.
2. Understand and assess an organization’s data management environment
Participants will be able to evaluate and understand, at a high level, the current state of an organization’s data architecture, governance, quality, and integration.
3. Understand the importance of data governance and gain foundational implementation knowledge
Participants will develop an understanding of data governance, data stewardship, and the implementation of policies and standards.
4. Understand the importance of data quality, metadata, and master data management
Participants will learn methods for improving data quality and defining and managing data effectively.
5. Understand how to support data-driven decision-making
Participants will understand the roles of data warehouses, business intelligence, and analytics, as well as how they create value for organizations.
6. Build a foundation for advancing data management within an organization
Participants will understand data management strategies, organizational structures, roles, and responsibilities, enabling them to identify the first steps toward organization-wide implementation.
